Through the Living Savvy online TV program, we watch Vicky, Cat, Janine and Jane work with Living Savvy life coaches to ask the big questions in life: What I creating? Who completes me? Where am I headed? We also talk to savvy women who are successfully creating their dream life – women who are fine tuning the ordinary to live their own extraordinary.
Who is Karen?
Karen has a dream that many women can relate to. She’s not interested in fame, fortune or influence. She simply wants a life that is fulfilling – with a loving family and meaningful work. She values connection and community, both with her husband and two sons, and with the wider world through her job as a police officer.
What is an extraordinary life?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question. It’s different for each of us, and the answer will probably change over the course of our lives as well. One person’s ordinary will be another’s extraordinary. When Karen asked herself the question, she received a clear vision of what she wanted in her life and she is determined to live in accordance with those values – with courage and commitment. What more could we wish for in our lives?
What can you learn from Karen’s story?
- Focus on the people that really matter and don’t let the opinions of others hold you back.
- Living your dream is not always easy – you will need to carefully weigh the consequences of your choices and make tough decisions – but the rewards are great!
In Karen’s words…
“There’s no perfect time for anything, and I think that if you don’t try it, you’re going to regret it… I wasn’t going to regret not trying to be a mum, and not trying to be a police officer.”
Answer the question: what does my dream life look like? Writing the story of your dream life can help you get clear about what you want and what is standing in the way.
